The Council for the Development of Cambodia and the Kansai Economic Federation of Japan have initiated high-level talks aimed at establishing Cambodia as a premier regional hub for the automotive component manufacturing industry in the near future. This forward-looking strategic initiative took center stage during a bilateral meeting on June 12, 2026, between His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Masayoshi Matsumoto, the Chairman of the Kansai Economic Federation. During the session, the two leaders exchanged strategic insights on the current state and future trajectory of Cambodia’s automotive assembly and component sector.
