Cambodia Ships Additional 20,000 Tonnes of Milled Rice Worth Over $10 Million to Philippines

Cambodia has dispatched an additional shipment of 20,000 tonnes of milled rice valued at over $10 million to the Philippine market, departing directly from Kampot Multipurpose Port to four major destination ports across the Philippines. The major maritime shipment was highlighted in an official press release issued on October 5, 2026, by leading exporter Signature Rice, which confirmed plans to expand total deliveries to the archipelago to 60,000 tonnes by the end of this year.

The 20,000-tonne shipment represents one-third of Signature Rice’s strategic export quota for the fourth quarter of 2026. To fulfill its end-of-year target, the company intends to ship an additional 40,000 tonnes across November and December 2026. Looking ahead to 2027, Signature Rice aims to scale up its annual export volume to the Philippine market to approximately 100,000 tonnes, driven by sustained market demand and optimized bulk vessel logistics.

Data from the Cambodian Rice Federation underscores a rapid expansion in bilateral agricultural trade between the two Southeast Asian nations. Cambodian rice exports to the Philippines surged from just 1,620 tonnes in January to 35,450 tonnes in September 2026. Over the first nine months of 2026, the Philippines imported a cumulative 157,552 tonnes of Cambodian rice. This rapid rise positions the Philippines as one of Cambodia’s primary rice export destinations, nearly matching Vietnam, which purchased 159,946 tonnes over the same nine-month period. (read more)
