CDC Approves 14 Investment Projects Worth Over US$544 million

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently approved permits to private firms to invest a total of US$544.8 million in establishing 14 factories in Phnom Penh, Kampong Speu, Preah Vihear, Sihanoukville, Kandal, Battambang, Pursat and Koh Kong.

According to a CDC announcement on 12 November 2021, those firms include:

1. RMA AUTOMOTIVE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$21 million to build a car assembly factory in Sna Ansa commune, Krakor district, Pursat province.

2. EM AUTOMOBILE CO., LTD, which will invest US$16.3 million to build a factory to assemble machinery, trailers and heavy trucks in Chy Ko Leu commune, Srae Ambel district, Koh Kong province.

3. SCHNEITEC WESTERN CO., LTD, which will invest US$111 million to build a 500 kV transmission line from Battambang to the Cambodian-Thai border.

4. SCHNEITEC NORTHERN CO., LTD, which will invest US$330 million to build a 500KV transmission line from Battambang to the Cambodian-Lao border.

5. SMART TEX GARMENT (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$6.4 million to build a garment factory in Vihear Suork commune, Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province.

6. REMONDA (CAMBODIA) APPAREL CO., LTD, which will invest US$2.3 million to build a garment factory in Peuk commune, Angk Snuol district, Kandal province.

7. CATHAYA INDUSTRY (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$5.5 million to build a garment factory in Tang Krouch commune, Samraong Tong district, Kampong Speu province.

8. HENGWIN (CAMBODIA) GARMENT CO., LTD, which will invest US$5.4 million to build a garment factory in Tbaeng commune, Kandal Stueng district, Kandal province.

9. JW ZHONGRUN (CAMBODIA) GARMENT CO., LTD, which will invest US$4 million to build a garment factory in Sangkat Kantaok, Khan Kamboul, Phnom Penh.

10. WTX LEADING FASHION CO., LTD, which will invest US$7 million to build a garment factory in Sangkat Roka Khpos, Takmao City, Kandal province.

11. CLOTHO (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$4.1 million to build a bag factory in Sangkat Sangkat Kakab 2, Khan Pou Senchey City, Phnom Penh.

12. HUN TY REAL ESTATE CO., LTD, which will invest US$17.2 million to build a fruit processing packaging materials factory in Kampong Seila commune, Kampong Seila district, Sihanoukville.

13. KULARA WATER CO., LTD, which will invest US$5.6 million to build a water factory in Srayang commune, Kuleaen district, Preah Vihear province.

14. SUN PLEASURE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$9 million to build an airbag and kayak factory in Krang Mkak commune, Angk Snuol district, Kandal province.

According to the CDC, these 14 aforementioned investment projects will create over 13,555 jobs for Cambodians.
