CDC Approves Nearly US$300M in Investment Projects in Q1 2023

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has announced the approval of 39 new investment projects and investment expansion projects in the first quarter of 2023, with a total investment capital of approximately US$294 million. According to the report, these projects are expected to create around 47,000 job opportunities for local people.

The majority of the projects, comprising 38 out of 39, are focused on the industrial sector, while the remaining one is in the tourism sector. Investors from China ranked first, accounting for nearly 70% of the total projects, while domestic investment came in second.

Although the number of investment projects decreased by eight compared to the same period last year, the total investment capital decreased only by US$2.2 billion. With the approval of these projects, the country’s economy is expected to grow further and generate more employment opportunities for the local workforce. (Read more)
