CDC Approves Over 210 Japanese Investment Projects Worth Approx. US$3bn as of July 2021

As of July 2021, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved Japanese companies to invest in a total of 211 projects in Cambodia worth over US$3 billion, most of which are investment projects in non-textile manufacturing sector.

This is according to the 22nd meeting of the Cambodia-Japan Joint Committee on Monday 30 August.

Among those projects, CDC has approved 145 Japanese investment projects outside the special economic zone (SEZ) with a total investment capital of about US$ 2.8 billion.

Meanwhile, 66 of the projects are approved to operate within the SEZ, which has a total investment of approximately US$340 million.

According to a CDC report, in the first half of 2021, CDC approved 87 new investments both new and expansion projects, equivalent to almost US$3 billion, which is an increase of about 10% compared to the same period last year.(Read more)
