CDC Approves US$18.2m Investment in Cambodia’s Manufacturing Sector

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently given the go-ahead for four new investment projects in the country’s manufacturing industry, with a total worth of US$18.2 million. These ventures are set to create thousands of job opportunities across Kandal, Svay Rieng, and Phnom Penh.

According to the CDC, the first company to receive approval is DAZHENGXUAN (CAMBODIA) INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD, which will invest US$6 million in establishing an umbrella factory, raincoat, curtain, towel, table, etc. This factory will be located on National Road 2, Kraing Svay Village, Sangkat Prek Kampus, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh.

The second approved company is XIN YUAN CHENG FACTORY CO., LTD, which will invest US$5.1 million in establishing a shoe accessories factory located in Lum Road, Prey Khla Village, Kraing Makak Commune, Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province.

Thirdly, XU WEI GARMENT (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD has also received approval for its investment of US$5.1 million in establishing a garment factory located in Prey Kambot Village, Sangkat Choam Chao II, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.

Lastly, Won Star Enterprise Co., Ltd. has been given approval to invest US$2 million in establishing a factory to produce decorative lamps, decorative materials made of plastic and other decorative materials such as string light, LED, sculpture, ancient tree elf, etc. This factory will be located in Svay Rieng Special Economic Zone, Gigarris, Svay Rieng Province.

According to the CDC, these ventures are expected to create 3,404 new job opportunities for the people of Cambodia. With the implementation of these projects, the country’s manufacturing sector is set to flourish, leading to an increase in economic growth and development.
