CDC Approves Two Investment Projects Worth Nearly US$70 Million

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has officially approved private firms to invest in building two factories worth nearly US$70 million in Kandal and Svay Rieng provinces.

The first investment permit has been granted to Onion Mobility Co., Ltd, with the firm investing US$20 million to build a factory to assemble motorcycles and electric tricycles in Sovannaphum SEZ in Kandal province.

Meanwhile, the second firm is Shane (Cambodia) Furniture Co., Ltd, which will invest US$47.7 million to build a furniture factory in Sen Bavet SEZ in Svay Rieng province.

According to the CDC, both investment projects will create more than 1,200 jobs for Cambodians.

In just 15 days in February, the CDC has already approved at least 12 major projects, with a total investment of nearly US$700 million.(Read more and more)

Moreover, over the course of 2020, the CDC approved a total of 238 investment projects, or equivalent to an investment value of US$8 billion. (Read more)
