Chinese Company Set to Boost Clean Energy Investments in Cambodia

In a significant move to enhance energy security in Cambodia, Xingtai Shunhe Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a premier energy manufacturer from Hebei Province, China, has announced its ambitions to invest in the country’s clean and renewable energy sectors.

During a recent meeting with H.E. Chea Wutty, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Committee, Ms. Li Jie, the President of Xingtai Shunhe, outlined her company’s plans to contribute to Cambodia’s energy landscape. “Our goal is to invest in clean energy solutions that not only bolster energy security but also minimize environmental impacts,” Ms. Jie stated.

The proposed project includes the production of ethanol fuel, which Ms. Jie emphasized could be utilized across various sectors, including automobiles, marine vessels, aircraft, and food processing industries. She expressed a strong commitment to fostering cooperation with Cambodia and supporting the nation’s energy sector development.

In response, H.E. Chea Wutty welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of local sourcing for production materials. He encouraged the company to utilize indigenous resources such as cassava, sugarcane, and corn to create local value and boost the supply chain.

Xingtai Shunhe Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is recognized as a leader in ethanol fuel supply in China, operating a network of 72 gas stations across the country. The company’s investment in Cambodia represents a vital step toward sustainable energy practices and economic development in the region.
