Chinese Mining Company to Launch Gold Production in Mondulkiri Province

Rong Cheng Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., a Chinese-based company, is set to commence gold exploration and refining in Mondulkiri province after completing its production infrastructure. According to HE Sorn Sarun, Deputy Governor of Mondulkiri Province, the company has been granted a legal license to explore gold ore in the province, and has already conducted test production, yielding over 2 kilograms of gold.

Ty Sophal, Director of the provincial Department of Mines and Energy, revealed that the Chinese company, Rong Cheng Industrial Investment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., had been granted the legal license to explore the gold ore in Mondulkiri province, and the company used to run a test production and received more than 2 kilograms of gold.

Currently, the company has been actively working to resolve relevant impacts around the mining area, and may soon make an official announcement and launch of the company. Once completely prepared and resolved, the company may have an official announcement, inauguration, and official launch of the company, Ty Sophal added.

“Mondulkiri province has not only been enriched in gold ore but also other mineral resources such as bauxite, lead, coal, etc. Previously, there used to be several companies studying and exploring those resources,” Ty Sophal claimed.

Beside the Chinese company, recently Australia’s Renaissance Mineral Limited (Cambodia) in exploring gold ore in Chong Plas commune, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province. The province’s rich mineral resources make it an attractive location for mining companies to explore and extract resources.

The opening of the Chinese company’s gold production marks a significant step in the development of Mondulkiri province, providing opportunities for economic growth and prosperity in the region.
