Chinese state-owned firm mulls establishing electronic & automobile industrial park in Cambodia

China City Industrial Group Co. Ltd. intends to establish an industrial park and multi-purpose investment zone to produce electronics and auto parts in Cambodia, according to Minister of Information HE Khieu Kanharith on 20 February.

During the meeting, the Director of Baoxing Long Company in Cambodia Li Ji Ling representing China City Industrial Group Co., Ltd said that the company wants to establish an industrial park, a multi-purpose investment zone, and a factory to produce electronics, car parts, and other equipment parts in Cambodia.

The investment project needs to employ about 5,000 to 10,000 local people.

Through this investment project, the company will also provide vocational training in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, technology, transportation, sanitation, environment, infrastructure, bridges, roads, and railways.

In response, the Minister welcomed the project and instructed the company’s team to meet with the Cambodian Development Consulting Company, which can review and decide on development and investment projects in Cambodia.

CCIG is a state-owned company in China that mainly produces vehicles, operating equipment, agricultural machinery, elevators, electrical equipment, and auto parts, among others.
