Construction Begins on New Facilities at Sambor Prei Kuk Temple Complex

Minister of Culture and Fine Arts H.E Pheung Sakona broke ground on the morning of 03 August on the construction of the administration office and 13km detour road at the Sambo Prei Kuk temple complex in Kompong Thom province.

The National Administration Building is being built to replace the dilapidated one, and construction will take place in stages. The 13km detour road is being built to help ease ease of transportation and to reduce the negative impacts on the temple caused by too many vehicles passing close by.

To date, the responsible team has already completed the basic work such as ground filling and fence building. The government also plans to build a new three-storey university on 20 hectares of land in that area, although the construction timeline has yet be confirmed. (Read more)
