Construction of Koh Tonsay Tourist Port 75% complete

The construction of Koh Tonsay Tourism Port in Kep province is over 77% complete and is scheduled to begin operation soon.

Director of the Department of Inland Structures and Ports of the MPWT Ros Sophorn told AKP that the construction of the port has been underway for more than a year, which is a bit behind the schedule.

The port will have a total area of 3,400 square metres with depths varying from 3 to 4.70 metres, and which will be able to accommodate two types of cruise ships.

The first type of ship can travel 56km offshore and can carry 30 to 100 people. The second type can go up to 193km offshore and can carry from 100 to 300 passengers.

The project has been under construction since 2020 with a US$1.2 million national budget.

According to MPWT, the port was built as part of a plan to improve the maritime network in the region by connecting to another port in Kampot province.
