Construction of NR2 and NR22 16% Complete

After the groundbreaking ceremony in February, the construction and restoration of National Road 2 and 22 from Takmao to Angk Ta Saom has been 16% completed, according to Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol during his flood-damaged roads inspection on 16 October.

“The progress of the construction is going well as planned. If we compare it to our master plan, this road is 16% completed, according to the report of my technicians who came to check in the field,” said HE Sun Chanthol.

The restoration of the sections of NR 2 and NR 22 cover a total length of 72km. The project is being undertaken with a budget US$56 million funded by the Republic of Korea together with the government fiscal budget.

Both roads will be paved with AC and will take approximately 30 months to complete. (Read more)
