Draft of Master Plan on Transport and Logistics Expected to Finish This Year

Draft of Master Plan of Intermodal Transport and Logistics Connectivity is expected to finish drafting in mid of 2019 and then submitted to the Council of the Ministers for check and approval.

H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, said that the interim master plan on the intermodal transport and logistics connectivity was completed and approved in a meeting between inter-ministries held on January 6, 2020.

The interim master plan plays important role in directing and setting framework of master plan on infrastructure development, intermodal transports including logistics system which will enhance efficiency of public investment on transport infrastructure and boost the country’s economic growth sustainably and inclusively.

The interim master plan includes mater plan on main road transport and road safety; master plan on rail transport; master plan on waterway, maritime, and port; master plan on Preah Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port; and master plan on logistics.

Speaking at annual meeting held on January 8, H.E. Sun Chanthol said that the tasks in next time is that the National Logistics Council sets and plans for the master plan to be comprehensive as Master Plan on Intermodal Transport and Logistics Connectivity by adding of two components including air transport and intermodal transport.

The draft of master plan on intermodal transport and logistics connectivity was started compiling by Ministry of Public Works and Transport in September 2018.
