Driving the Value Chain: Kampong Speu Tyre Plant Hits Monthly Production Capacity of Over 60,000 Units

Following an inter-ministerial inspection led by the CDC, Sundance Industries ramps up export-driven commercial manufacturing, signaling Cambodia’s strategic transition toward heavy industrial processing…

The manufacturing ecosystem in Kampong Speu Province has achieved a new milestone, with a prominent automotive component and tyre factory demonstrating the capacity to manufacture over 60,000 units per month. This manufacturing advancement comes as a major asset to the country’s light-industrial landscape, fueling local economic expansion and solidifying regional manufacturing capacities.

The project’s production capabilities were evaluated during a comprehensive on-site factory inspection on June 30, 2026, conducted by a specialized inter-ministerial delegation. The regulatory visit was led by His Excellency Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The mission aimed to comprehensively assess the factory’s operational progress, review physical production lines, and engage directly with management to identify and address any logistical challenges or structural bottlenecks.

The state-of-the-art facility is owned and operated by SUNDANCE INDUSTRIES CO., LTD.. The company originally secured its official investment approval from the Council for the Development of Cambodia on April 1, 2020. Since embarking on its active production phase, the manufacturing hub has rapidly expanded its active operations and has already generated more than 100 direct domestic jobs.

In its initial production phase, the facility has successfully optimized its machinery to focus heavily on the assembly of heavy-duty commercial tyres, specifically catering to transport cargo trucks and industrial trailer rigs. The factory boasts an active output capability of 62,500 tyres per month, with the entire production volume strictly designated for competitive international export markets.

According to consolidated data from the Council for the Development of Cambodia’s official May 2020 report, the total capital investment earmarked for this mega-scale project sits at $32.9 million. The expansive industrial site is strategically situated across Tumpeam Village, Tang Krouch Commune, Samraong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province. At its full designed capacity, the plant is engineered to scale its operations to manufacture an all-inclusive range of vehicular tyres and advanced rim assemblies, a move projected to eventually generate a total of 332 secure jobs for local workers.

This operational ramp-up mirrors a significant shift across Cambodia’s broader industrial landscape. For years, the Kingdom relied heavily on the export of raw rubber commodities to neighboring processing markets. However, backed by investor-friendly regulatory frameworks and robust supportive government policies implemented via the CDC, the nation is aggressively climbing the industrial value chain. Specialized manufacturing plants like Sundance Industries are transforming domestic industrial zones into highly competitive manufacturing clusters capable of supplying finished, high-specification products to international buyers. With Kampong Speu’s proximity to major logistical corridors and transport hubs, developments of this scale continue to anchor Cambodia’s standing as an emerging, highly efficient manufacturing base within Southeast Asia.
