Building Bridges: CCA & CHINCA Unite for a Thriving Construction Future

 

In a significant move for the construction sector, the Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) hosted a successful meeting with the China International Constructors Association (CHINCA) on 8 April 2025. This gathering not only highlighted Cambodia’s growing economic landscape but also forged pathways for potential collaboration in the construction business and industrial development.

The meeting delved into several key topics, beginning with discussions on the current economic trends in Cambodia, along with the nation’s infrastructure priorities. It became evident that there are ample opportunities for advancement within the construction sector that could benefit both parties.

A notable highlight was CHINCA’s presentation on its mission, membership, and key programs, emphasising its commitment to fostering international partnerships. The association introduced its innovative efforts in establishing a green supply chain evaluation system, aimed at enhancing sustainability within the construction industry.

Both associations explored proposals for Cambodian companies to engage in the International Engineering Supply Chain Cooperation Mechanism, which promises mutual growth and shared resources. This initiative sets the stage for enhanced collaboration and innovation in the sector.

Participants also benefited from direct exchanges between leading Chinese suppliers of engineering equipment and materials and local Cambodian partners, fostering new connections and potential collaborations.

Looking ahead, CHINCA proposed that CCA’s members join a panel discussion in Macao, which will be hosted in the near future on the construction industry, expected to draw 3,000 participants. CCA members expressed enthusiasm for participating in this event, highlighting their commitment to engaging in international dialogues that could bolster the construction industry.

Throughout the meeting, CCA Chairman, OCIC, proudly showcased various projects that exemplify Cambodia’s capability for significant infrastructural investments, including the Techo International Airport, Koh Pich Satellite City, Koh Norea Satellite City, Chroy Changwar Satellite City, and Olympia City. These initiatives have garnered admiration from CHINCA, which praised Cambodia’s growth and ambition in managing large-scale projects.

Both associations look forward to building upon this foundation of cooperation, with hopes for future partnerships that would elevate Cambodia’s construction landscape and economic development.
