CDC Approved Over US$1.4bn in Construction-Related Projects in January 2022

In the first month of 2022, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved a total of 25 investment projects worth over US$2.5 billion. Among these, projects related to construction and real estate accounted for approximately US$1.4 billion.

The largest project is the US$1.3 billion multipurpose port and logistic centre in Kampot province being invested in by KAMPOT LOGISTICS AND PORT COMPANY LIMITED.

In the real estate sector, a US$128-million five-star hotel by K.B.X INVESTMENT CO., LTD is also approved for Phnom Penh.

Another major investment is the US$15 million of PHNOM PENH GENERAL HOSPITAL CO., LTD to build a 200-bed multi-purpose hospital in Khan 7 Makara.

Besides, a 150 MW Stung Tatai hydropower development investment project in Koh Kong province worth US$389 million was also approved by the CDC in January. The agreement to implement this project was signed in 2020.

In addition to the above major projects, CDC also approved other projects such as garment factories, textile factories, energy, and agricultural processing, among others.
