Psar Deumkor Market Pedestrian Bridge Officially Opened

The new Psar Deumkor market pedestrian bridge was officially opened on the morning of 24 July 2020 after construction first began in late 2019.

The bridge is located at the junction of Mao Tse Tong Blvd and 336 street in Toul Kork district. Construction of the pedestrian bridge began on 28 December 2019 and was initially expected to take six months to complete.

The bridge’s steel structure is 27-metres long and 3-metres wide. (Read more)

Phnom Penh Governor H.E Khuong Sreng said at the inauguration ceremony that the three main objectives of the bridge are to reduce risks for people crossing the road, reduce traffic congestion and enhance the city’s beauty.

The Phnom Penh Administration also plans to build 25 more pedestrian bridges in the city to facilitate the safety of commuters and the traffic flow on the road.

Sam Piseth, Director of the Phnom Penh Department of Public Works and Transport, told Construction & Property Magazine in June that the location of 25 projects had already been selected and were awaiting the start of construction. The project locations will be announced by Phnom Penh Governor HE Khuong Sreng. (Read more)
