Draft Master Plan to Digitalise Cambodia’s Transport Sector on Track

Work on drafting a master plan to digitalise Cambodia’s public works and transport sector is on track, as a special working group of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) is accelerating the progress.

MPWT Secretary of State HE Chhuon said during the follow-up meeting with relevant officers on 12 October that to date the working group has already achieved the collection of documents, regulations, and other important inputs from the different government units.

“The collection of all these key inputs from various sectors will help us prepare a draft master plan more comprehensively. The inputs will also help us address challenges and seek solutions before finalising the draft soon,” he continued.

The draft master plan is being designed in line with the Cambodian Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035, which was launched by the government in May 2021.

Under this policy, all government bodies and private sectors are urged to modernise and digitalise their working flow to achieve an inclusive upgrade of the whole economy.
