MAFF Introduces 4 Key Policies to Support Modern Agricultural Infrastructures

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) has set out four main policies to participate in the implementation of the National Policy on Agricultural Development 2022-2030 and to generate modern, competitive, inclusive, and climate-resilient agriculture.

Secretary of State of MAFF, HE Srey Vuthy, remarked at the press conference on the 5-Year Achievement of MAFF on 19 July 2022 that the 4 key policies include:

  • Promoting a competitive agricultural production chain
  • Increasing support for agricultural infrastructure and agro-trade facilitation
  • Increasing sustainable management of land, agriculture, forestry, and fishery resources.
  • Strengthening the governance and development of human resources in the agricultural sector to promote competitive and inclusive agricultural growth by providing high quality, safe and nutritious products with high consideration for sustainable land, water, forest, and fisheries management.

MAFF is also promoting the use of digital technology to develop agricultural value chains, improve market access for small and medium-sized farmers, increase agricultural productivity, and expand access to farms along with power grids and infrastructure and transport of agricultural products.
