Siem Reap Provincial Authority Announce Immediate Demolition of Buildings Along Eight Roads to Prepare for New Road Construction

The Siem Reap Provincial Authority has ordered all owners to immediately demolish any buildings along eight roads in Siem Reap City within 15 days from the date of this announcement, and will soon start construction projects on these roads, according to an announcement dated on 23 June 2022.

All business buildings, houses, constructions, and other properties that are affected and, on the land, along the eight roads must be demolished by the determination, which is measured and marked by the decision of the Administrative Commission during Systematic Land Registration (LMAP).

The authority will construct these eight roads using government funding including:

  1. The road behind Pur Langkar Pagoda (In front of Hang Trop Hotel) to Boengdonpa Concrete Road 670, which is 670 metres × 6 metres with a 1-metre diameter drain in a 670-metre-long road.
  2. Slaughter Road (Sangkat Chreav) from the ring road to Khnar Chas Road, which is 2330 metres × 7 metres with 6 drains crossing the road 12 metres​ apart.
  3. Ice Factory Road (Sangkat Chreav) from the ring road to the East direction, which is 860 metres × 7 metres with 0.8-metre diameter drains along the 1720-metre-long road.
  4. Phum Kuk Krasang Road (Sangkat Svay Dankum) from Provincial Road 267 (gate of Sun Boutique to the road to Stueng America), which is 800 metres × 7 metres with drains on both sides of road with a diameter of 0.8 metres and a length of 500 metres.
  5. National Road 6 (Chao Sang Hok) to the South, which is 170 metres × 6 metres with 0.8-metre diameter drains.
  6. National Road 6 (Total Phsar Leu) to Ta Uch Road, which is 360 metres × 7 metres with 0.8-metre diameter drains in the centre of the road.
  7. Road near Mondial Restaurant to the North, which is 720 metres × 6 metres and 0.8 metres in diameter of the drain with 720 metres long in the centre of the road.
  8. North Road of Wat Brasat Tramneak with 0.8-metre diameter drains.

After the expiration of 15 days, the Siem Reap Provincial Authority will demolish any buildings according to the legal procedures in force and will not be responsible for any damage or loss of properties in case all construction owners do not comply with this announcement.
