Finnish Company to Operate 200-MW Solar Power in Cambodia

Finnish technology company Wärtsilä has signed an agreement with Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) on the C7 power plant project in Phnom Penh, to maintain a five-year supply of electricity in Cambodia, according to the Power Engineering website on 17 September.

Under this agreement, a supplier of electrical engineering SchneiTec will be in charge of implementing the project.

The agreement aims to support the availability, performance, and reliability of the 12 Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines that generate a total of 200MW of power to the main grid.

General Manager of HFO/LNG division, SchneiTec Tann Tourthang said, “We appreciate the support from Wärtsilä in optimising the maintenance of this plant. Being the engine supplier, we are sure to be fit-for-purpose without any risk of compromising either performance or reliability.”
