French Company Explores Strategic Investments in Cambodia’s Electronics & Logistics Sector

France-based CMA CGM Group is eyeing substantial investments in electronics and logistics to revolutionize Cambodia’s transport landscape. The announcement surfaced during a crucial meeting between HE Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Committee (CEC), and a delegation from CMA CGM Group, represented by Mr. Emmanuel LY-BATALLAN, Economic Advisor at the French Embassy in Cambodia on 20 December 2023.

The delegation conveyed a strategic interest in deploying electric vehicles to markedly slash transportation expenses within Cambodia. Additionally, the group is keen on investing in sectors pivotal to lowering logistics costs, including the implementation of cold chain logistics systems.

HE Suon Sophal warmly welcomed the delegation’s initiative, providing valuable insights into Cambodia’s investment procedures in the specified sectors. The discussion also touched upon the investment-friendly environment outlined in Cambodia’s investment regime.

Expressing optimism, HE Suon Sophal affirmed his belief that the delegation would maximize the investment opportunities afforded by Cambodia’s innovative sector within the bounds of existing laws.
