Gov’t Turns SR Sewage into Tourist Attraction

One of the main sewage systems in Siem Reap has been transformed into a new walking area with flower gardens on both sides to serve as a public park and tourist attraction.

HE Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, led the team to inspect the site on 15 September.

“This is a creative and effective project of the government in turning smelly sewage into a park with trees and colorful flowers. We hope that this will be a tourist attraction to both local and tourists,” said HE Chea Sophara.

The new park is located in the center of Siem Reap city in Svay Dangkum commune.
