Gov’t Approves US$2m Budget to Renovate Siem Reap-Oddar Meanchey Road

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has approved a US$$2 million fund to renovate and upgrade a 68-kilometre road from Siem Reap to Oddar Meanchey, according to a official meeting last weekend.

The renovation of this road is to facilitate the travel and transportation of agricultural products between the two areas. The construction is set for completion in 2024.

The road will pass through Siem Reap and Oddar Meanchey provinces, including the 41-kilometre DBST road project in Siem Reap and 27 kilometres in Oddar Meanchey province.

Oddar Meanchey Governor Pen Kosal said that the 27-kilometre road from Tumnup Thmei village to Trapeang Prasat village has always been criticised for its poor condition.

“Thus, the renovation will help ease general travellers and especially farmers in transporting agricultural products to and from the market,” he added.
