Gov’t Unveils Special Incentives for 27 New Investment Projects in Sihanoukville

In a significant boost to regional development, the Investment Promotion Working Group in Sihanoukville has announced a new initiative to offer special incentives for 27 investment and business projects, collectively valued at approximately USD282 million. This announcement was made via the official Facebook page of the working group.

The new incentives encompass a diverse range of projects, including 17 related to stalled buildings, 8 new initiatives, 1 expansion project, and 1 existing venture. Together, these projects are expected to create around 1,812 jobs, greatly contributing to local employment and economic growth.

Among the highlighted projects are car assembly and installation factory initiatives, vehicle parts manufacturing facilities, hotel developments, tourist resorts, and multi-functional buildings. This broad spectrum of investments is indicative of the region’s emerging status as a hub for both new and established industries.

Notably, the batch of projects receiving special incentives in the second quarter of 2025 represents an 11% increase from the previous quarter, reflecting a growing confidence among private sector investors. This optimism is fueled by the streamlined “single-entry” mechanism offered by the Preah Sihanouk Investment Promotion Task Force, which aims to facilitate investment processes for both local and foreign investors.

The commitment to fostering a favorable business environment in Sihanoukville underscores the province’s potential as a center for economic development in Cambodia. As these projects come to fruition, they are set to transform the landscape of the region and enhance the livelihoods of its residents.
