Ground Broken on US$30-million Drainage System & Wastewater Treatment Plant in Battambang

The Battambang Provincial Administration has broken ground on the drainage system and wastewater treatment plant project in Battambang City to address challenges posed by rapid urban development.

The ground-breaking ceremony was held on 10 February in the presence of HE Sok Lou, Governor of Battambang province.

According to the Battambang provincial administration, the project will cost approximately US$30 million and is scheduled for completion in 2024.

The project is implemented under funds from ADB, AFD, and grants from the European Union.

HE Sok Lou said that the project will address the challenges posed by the rapid urban development and fast-growing population of Battambang.
