Heavy Machinery Giant from Vietnam Targets Kampong Speu for Multi-Million Dollar Assembly Plant

In a significant boost to Cambodia’s expanding industrial footprint, major Vietnamese construction machinery supplier Ta Thi Phat Co Ltd has unveiled plans to establish a new manufacturing and assembly plant in Kampong Speu province. The strategic move represents a multi-million-dollar expansion aimed at capturing growing domestic demand in the Kingdom while positioning the province as a pivotal hub for heavy equipment. The ambitious project was formally introduced during a high-level meeting between Mr. Chan Hun, Director-General of Ta Thi Phat Co Ltd in Cambodia, and His Excellency Dr. Cheam Chansophoan, Governor of Kampong Speu Province.

Headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, where it operates a massive construction machinery assembly facility backed by an investment capital of approximately $750 million, Ta Thi Phat Co Ltd looks to leverage its manufacturing expertise to build its Cambodian subsidiary. According to corporate leadership, the decision to anchor their operations in Kampong Speu was heavily influenced by Cambodia’s enduring peace, political stability, and the robust economic potential of the province itself. The expansion is designed to roll out in distinct strategic phases, beginning with the import of machinery from Vietnam to fulfill immediate local market requirements, followed by the development of the localized assembly facility in Kampong Speu.

Welcoming the initiative, Governor Cheam Chansophoan affirmed that the Kampong Speu provincial administration is fully prepared to offer comprehensive coordination and administrative support to facilitate the company’s investment journey. Local authorities emphasize that the establishment of the assembly plant will act as a catalyst for socio-economic growth, generating high-value employment opportunities for local residents and advancing technical skill development within the province’s workforce. As Kampong Speu continues to attract substantial foreign direct investment, this public-private alignment highlights the province’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for international heavy industrial enterprises.
