Indonesia’s Lippo Group Explores Investment Avenues in Cambodia’s Health & Real Estate Sectors

Cambodia has welcomed the interest of Indonesia’s renowned Lippo Group in investing in the country’s health and real estate sectors. The announcement comes on the heels of a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Manet and Mr John Riady, the CEO of Lippo Group, during the prestigious 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on 17 January 2024.

During the meeting, Mr Riady shed light on the diverse portfolio of Lippo Group, operating globally with a focus on real estate, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, journalism, digital telecommunications, and finance.

Expressing keen interest and intention, the CEO conveyed Lippo Group’s desire to invest in Cambodia’s health sector, with a specific emphasis on delivering quality health services at affordable prices. Furthermore, the company aims to contribute to Cambodia’s real estate landscape by engaging in the development of low-cost housing and addressing the growing demand for accessible and sustainable housing options.

In response to Lippo Group’s aspirations, PM Hun Manet encouraged the exploration of potential collaborations with local investment entities. The encouragement extends to expanding investments into other promising sectors within Cambodia. Mr Raidy emphasised the similarities between the traditional culture and market styles of Cambodia and Indonesia, highlighting the potential synergy for fruitful partnerships.
