Industry Ministry Selects 50 Factories to Implement New Carbon Emission Reduction Technologies

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) has selected 50 factories in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Battambang as the samples to implement new carbon emission reduction technologies, known as TEST.

Initiated in 2018, Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies, or TEST, will be implemented until 2021, but due to the COVID-19 impact, it will continue until 2022.

TEST aims at using a variety of approaches to help reduce the use of raw materials, components, electricity, water, fuel, and waste, while increasing productivity, quality and environmental protection.

The methods included are not only limited to the selection of appropriate technologies to ensure the efficient use of resources, clean production, proper environmental management system, among others.

To date, 35 factories out of 50 have already signed the agreement with the ministry.
