Japan Provides Over US$50m Fund for Multiple Development Projects in Cambodia

The Japanese government has provided grant aid of US$51.3 million to Cambodia for the construction of multiple economic and social development infrastructures.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on 12 November. the grant will be allocated to the following projects:

• Construction of the Cambodian Mine Action Center Training Center (approximately US$17 million) and War Awareness Building
• The project to improve the management of contaminated medical waste worth approximately US$3 million
• The project to expand the water supply system of the Phum Prek factory is worth approximately US$23.3 million
• Economic and social development program worth US$8 million

The grant will significantly contribute to accelerating the economic and social development of Cambodia, as well as further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
