Japanese, Singaporean Firm to Jointly Establish First Transit-Oriented Mixed-Use Development in Jakarta

Japanese firm Mitsubishi and Singaporean state-owned developer Surbana Jurong will jointly establish the first transit-oriented mixed-use development in Jakarta, Indonesia, according to the Global Construction Review recently.

The project will be developed on an area of 6 hectares of land connected to Cisauk Train Station in the Intermoda district of Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD). The mega-development project will be developed under a joint venture (also known as Mitbana) with an investment of US$150 million and is scheduled to begin construction in 2022.

The project is designed to ease congestion from Bumi Serpong Damai to central Jakarta. With the new development, the firm will also upgrade the pedestrian connections from Cisauk Station with retails, food and drinks.

Separately, Mitbana and Sinarmas also plan to develop 100 hectares of green land in Bumi Serpong Damai.
