Kampong Chhnang Province has experienced a notable surge in industrial activity, now hosting a total of 2,712 factories, enterprises, and handicraft bases across its jurisdiction. Among these operational establishments, 42 are classified as large-scale factories and enterprises, highlighting the province’s expanding capacity for industrial manufacturing and employment.

The recent economic milestones were detailed in a report presented by His Excellency Sun Sovannarith, the Governor of Kampong Chhnang Province. The presentation took place on May 27, 2026, during a meeting with provincial, municipal, district, commune, and quarter councils, alongside various departmental leaders. The event was held under the presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Acting Head of State of Cambodia.

In his briefing, Governor Sun Sovannarith highlighted the geographical advantages driving this wave of development. Situated in the central region of Cambodia, Kampong Chhnang lies just 91 kilometers from the capital city of Phnom Penh.
