Kampong Speu Governor Vows to Promote Two Core Sectors to Attract More Investors

Kampong Speu Provincial Governor HE Vei Samnang has vowed to promote industry and tourism within the province even more, as both sectors have been playing very crucial roles in attracting investors.

HE Samnang said on 1 March 1 that Kampong Speu is located between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, and surrounded major National Roads such as NR51, 44 and 41. Those three routes are packed with development projects and special economic zones.

“Among them, NR51 sees a development project of OCIC on an area of 500 hectares. Meanwhile, a Singapore firm is also developing an industrial zone along NR41, while NR44 is also the location of many other projects. These are the factors that make Kampong Speu become very attractive, only industrial, but also other sectors such as the real estate sector and tourism,” said HR Samnang.

Kampong is also home to over 200 factories with more than 12,000 workers. As of late 2020, the province has absorbed hundreds of large investment projects with an investment capital of more than US$200 million.​ (Read more)

As for tourism, according to the Director of Kampong Speu Provincial Department of Tourism Sao Saran, Kampong Speu is a unique province with multi-ethnic villages, beatify natural sceneries and many historical sites.
