Manufacturing Expansion Continues in Preah Sihanouk with Launch of New Plastic and Packaging Facility

Preah Sihanouk province is witnessing a steady rise in industrial activity as Cambodian Kechuang Material Co., Ltd. prepares to begin operations at its new plastic resin and packaging factory. This development comes amid a broader governmental push to transform the coastal region into a sophisticated economic center, a goal supported by a specialized investment promotion program that has already attracted billions of dollars in capital. On December 24, 2025, H.E. Long Dimanche, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk, led a delegation to inspect the facility located in Ou Trav village, within the Andong Thma commune of Prey Nob district. During the visit, provincial officials emphasized that while the government remains committed to facilitating business growth, companies must adhere strictly to technical standards and environmental regulations to ensure long-term sustainability.

The new facility represents an investment of $524,000 and is expected to provide direct employment to 41 individuals. As the factory nears its official opening, the provincial administration has provided specific guidance to the management regarding the implementation of a robust wastewater management system. Officials noted that proper drainage for both solid and liquid waste is essential to protect the health of the local community and the surrounding ecosystem.

Additionally, the deputy governor emphasized the importance of workplace safety, instructing the company to ensure adequate building ventilation, clearly marked emergency exits, and comprehensive fire prevention equipment. These measures are designed to align private sector operations with national legal standards and safety norms.
