Cambodia’s Digital Transformation Soars with the US$30 Million National Data Center

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications marked a historic milestone today with the inauguration of the state-of-the-art National Data Center, a project valued at nearly US$30 million. The center, located in Srah Chak district, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh, spans an impressive 12 stories, 36 meters wide, and 63 meters long. With an estimated construction timeline of 18 months, the National Data Center represents Cambodia’s bold leap into the digital revolution.

In his address at the ceremony, HE Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, highlighted the significance of the National Data Center for Cambodia’s public and private sectors. The center’s establishment will serve as a pivotal platform for leveraging data to drive institutional development, propelling Cambodia towards a digitally empowered future.

“The National Data Center is a testament to Cambodia’s commitment to harnessing the power of data for the advancement of our nation. This modern infrastructure will enable key sectors to collect, store, and access valuable data securely and reliably,” stated Minister Vandeth.

One of the center’s primary objectives is to centralize and safeguard government and corporate data from various key sectors, fostering enhanced data management and utilization. By offering a secure and robust technology ecosystem, the center is poised to deliver a wide array of benefits, empowering institutions with data-driven insights, cost-saving opportunities, and fortified service capacities.
