MPWT to Launch DIP System to Manage Expressway Revenue on 9 November

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) will officially launch the DIP system on 9 November 2022 to manage revenue earned from the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway.

MPWT Minister HE Sun Chanthol said on 2 November that the DIP technology system is scheduled to be completed and officially launched on 9 November.

“This system has been put in place to make it easier for people to top up their balance through the license plate and to facilitate faster access to the expressway, which will help reduce congestion and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said HE Chanthol.

The DIP technology system is developed by the General Department of Technology and Public Relations and the expressway companies as well as other banking institutions to ensure effective and transparent transactions.

The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway is open to the public to travel for one month, from 1-31 October 2022 for free. During the one-month trial, nearly 440,000 vehicles traveled through the route.
