MLMUPC Reveal New Ownership Certificates Enhance Security in Land Registration

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction promotes the use of digital systems and advanced verification technology to eliminate fraud and strengthen public trust.

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction is advancing its digital transformation by introducing a modernized property title certificate integrated with the official verify.gov.kh platform. This new system utilizes high-security QR code technology to ensure data integrity and provide an immediate method for authenticating ownership documents. By linking titles to a centralized blockchain-backed verification framework, the initiative aims to eradicate document forgery and increase public confidence in land transactions. This innovative system is being tested in ten capital cities and provinces nationwide, promising to streamline property transactions while safeguarding vital information.

The QR Code integrated into the ownership certificates provides an efficient way for stakeholders to verify property details instantly. This feature not only promotes transparency but also reduces the potential for fraud and disputes in land ownership. Experts emphasize that such technological improvements are essential in modernizing the real estate sector, which has historically faced challenges related to documentation and verification.

Piloting the new land registration system in select urban and provincial areas allows for real-time feedback and adjustments before full-scale implementation. Authorities are optimistic that this initiative will lead to more reliable and transparent property transactions, ultimately fostering public trust in the real estate market.

As Cambodia continues to develop its infrastructure and investment climate, adopting such secure and efficient systems is crucial for attracting both domestic and international investors. This transition not only aims to improve the efficiency of property transactions but also positions Cambodia as a forward-thinking player in the regional property landscape.
