MPWT to improve quality of four National Roads in Tbong Khmum and Kratie

Four national roads with a total length of 130km in Tbong Khmum and Kratie provinces are being rehabilitated in order to facilitate and improve rural area transportation with financial support from the World Bank. The four roads are NR 7, NR 73, NR 377 and NR 377A, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

Of these four roads, National Highway 7 (31.25km) and 73 (50km) will be upgraded to asphalt concrete (AC) quality, whereas National Road 377 (35.5km) and 377A (13.6km) will be built to DBST road quality level. These road quality levels are resilient to climate change so can facilitate travel from the countryside to schools, health centres, markets, towns and other major road networks.

According to the CLV (Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam) top leader meeting on 23 June 2019, Kratie is one of the four provinces that is expected to be a new economic growth pole for the country particularly through infrastructure development and inflow of tourists. (Read more)
