New Ministry of National Defence to Be Officially Inaugurated by Years End

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen will preside over the inauguration ceremony of the new Ministry of National Defence, on 29 December.

Samdech Hun Sen set the date during the inauguration ceremony of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction on Monday 8 November.

“This year, Cambodia inaugurates three ministries. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction have already officially opened. The Ministry of National Defence, which will inaugurate on 29 December at the same time with the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the win-win policy,” said PM Hun Sen.

“All the inauguration ceremonies can be done because Cambodia is moving to new stage of new normal, for which people must learn how to live with COVID-19 in a safer manner,” he added.

Comprising of seven floors (about 32 metres high), the new building is 28 metres wide, 191 metres long and has an underground parking lot.

In addition, the building is divided into three sections, the east zone, middle zone and the west zone.

The east zone comprises small and big meeting rooms, a conference hall, small and big courtrooms, an area for reviewing troops, and a huge meeting hall that can accommodate up to 1,000 people for both national and international meetings. (Read more)
