New National Defense Ministry Administrative Building Officially Inaugurated

The new administration building and conference hall of the National Defense Ministry were officially inaugurated on Wednesday 29 December, marking the 23-year anniversary of the success of bringing peace through the win-win policy (December 29, 1998-December 29, 2021).

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

The new administration building of the Ministry of National Defense was built on the old site with a width of 28 metres, a length of 191 metres and a height of 32 metres. The building is 7 floors high with underground parking that able to accommodate 150 vehicles.

The total area of the building is 30,979 sqm, which is 10 times the size of the old building.

The new administration building was built with the Khmer architectural design with the left and right wings using an old big tree in the middle as the centre.

The construction of the new administrative building and conference hall started in June 2018 and is set for completion by June 2021. However, due to COVID-19, the completion was delayed to October 2021.
