New stadium planned for Kampong Speu ahead of 2023 SEA Games

A new stadium has been planned for Kampong Speu province which will serve for the upcoming 32nd SEA Games in 2023, according to the provincial governor.

Kampong Speu Provincial Governor H.E Vei Samnang told Construction & Property Magazine on 09 October that, Kampong Speu is to have a stadium that will stretch over 4 hectares of land while work has already begun.

“We are currently making the land higher by filling it with soil,” he said.

H.E Vei Samnang did not specify the exact location of the project.

However, as observed by our team when travelling from the provincial town towards Oral Mountains (about 5 minutes drive) there was mass land filling taking place.

Construction & Property Magazine will continue to report on this project as more details emerge.

Cambodia has been preparing significant infrastructure for the SEA Games, such as the US$160 million Morodok Techo National Stadium, the Koh Thom swimming pool, the AGT project, and the international swimming pool in Battambang province.
