New US$2.5m Electric Equipment Factory Officially Launched in Pursat’s Krakor District

An electronic products assembly plant of SchneiTec CHINT Co., Ltd worth about US$2.5 million has been officially launched in Sna Ansar commune in Krakor district, Pursat province.

The inauguration ceremony was held on 28 February in the presence of Minister of Mines and Energy HE Suy Sem and Director General of Electricity of Cambodia HE Keo Rattanak.

The project is a joint venture between SchneiTec and Chinese firm CHINT, spread over 20,000 sqm of land with a 3,000sqm factory building net area.

In the first phase, the firm will produce medium voltage electrical equipment and small-scale solar system equipment.

The factory will bring the latest technology to ensure that all products are high quality at a reasonable price to meet the domestic market and for future export.

The investment company expects that the plant will turn customers who used to use imported electronics to support a local brand like CHINT.

CEO of SchneiTec CHINT Heng Socheat said the establishment of this factory comes after the firm observed that the Cambodian market currently shows high demand for electrical equipment.
