Northeastern Provinces Attract 72 Investment Proposals Valued at $2.65 Billion

Under the Special Investment Program 2025–2028, Mondulkiri alone secures 22 project proposals worth $511 million as government teams deploy a single-window mechanism to accelerate regional economic growth

Cambodia’s northeastern region is experiencing an unprecedented surge in economic interest, receiving 72 investment project proposals with a combined capital value of $2,650 million as of August 3, 2026. The investment milestone was highlighted during a high-level consultation with business community leaders in Mondulkiri province on August 10, 2026, organized to promote and expand the implementation of the “Special Program to Promote Investment in the Four Northeastern Provinces of Cambodia 2025–2028”.

Hean Sahib, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Working Group to Promote Investment in the Northeastern Region, emphasized that the multi-billion-dollar project pipeline reflects strong confidence among domestic and international investors in the region’s vast economic potential. Within this regional development framework, Mondulkiri province has emerged as a key investment hub, securing 22 individual project proposals valued at $511 million, which are projected to generate 5,003 new jobs for local communities.

Addressing regional business owners, Hean Sahib reaffirmed that the northeastern provincial administrations and the dedicated investment working group stand fully prepared to support incoming investors through every phase of project implementation. The authorities are offering direct technical consultation, assistance with application filings, administrative facilitation, and proactive bottleneck resolution through the specialized “One Window Mechanism” operated by the investment promotion group.

To sustain this positive momentum across the four northeastern provinces, the government is executing a coordinated package-solution strategy guided by the “Dynamic Single-Actor System” approach. Designed to deliver maximum transparency, speed, and administrative efficiency, this unified operational framework aims to address shared operational challenges and establish the northeastern zone as a vibrant engine for national economic diversification.
