NR148 from Stung Hav Roundabout to SHV Port Over 40% Complete

Construction of the 18km long NR148, from Stung Hav roundabout to Sihanoukville Autonomous Port has been over 40% completed as of November, according to the inspection by Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol on 2 December.

HE Sun Chanthol said that this inspection is to ensure the quality of the construction, while the 40% work progress is approximately 1.55% faster than scheduled.

At the same time, the minister also advised the construction contractor to take high responsibility for the construction work, not only for the road but also the drainage system to ensure long-lasting quality.

Construction of this road began on 17 April 2020 and is being built by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) using the national budget. According to the plan, the construction will take 28 months to complete.

This section of the road is a potential inter-city road to serve the transportation of goods. This route is more cost-effective and more important helps reduce traffic congestion on NR4.
