Pattaya to Build Four Monorails

Thailand’s leading resort city Pattaya has unveiled plans for the construction of four monorails to reduce traffic congestion and make it easier for tourists to get to the famous beach.

The first 9.9km Green Line will have 13 stations and connect to the city’s planned new high-speed train station which will then link to the soon expanding airport as part of an overall national infrastructure expansion program.

Work will start simultaneously on a Yellow Line to Chon Buri with completion of these two lines expected in 2026. A Purple Line will break ground in the second phase expected to be completed in 2031. The third phase will see the fourth line start in 2031.
