Phhum Thmey Beach Resort Development Project in Kep Receives Green Light

The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development (NCCMD) has given the green light to a proposed beach resort development project in Phhum Thmey village in Kep province. The committee has urged the provincial administration to cooperate even closer with private firms to create similar kinds of projects in the province.

This approval was given during the NCCMD meeting held on Thursday 22 July.

Located in Thmey village, Prey Thom commune in Kep city, the project will stretch over 2,700 metres along the beach.

As planned, the project will include the creation of a 30-metre-wide natural beach, parks, and a playground among other public amenities.

This new beach development is being built under a co-investment contract between the government and the private sector to restore and create public beaches and greenery in the province.

Besides this project, there is also another proposal called ‘Angkol’ natural beach, located in Angkol village, Angkol commune, Damnak Chang Aeur district.
