Concession agreement of Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway to be signed in February

Cambodia and China plan to sign the concession agreement for the Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway in February 2023 during a state visit to China by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

This was stated by HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport on 11 January 2023.

The Minister said that in the next 10 years at the latest, all national and provincial roads in Cambodia will be converted into concrete and  asphalt concrete minimum width of 12 meters or 4 lanes.

The Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway project has total length of 138 km with the estimated cost of $1.63 billion. The road passes through Phnom Penh at the third ring road through Kandal, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, and Bavet city, Cambodia-Vietnam border. (Read more)
