PM breaks ground on NR 10 connecting Battambang to Koh Kong

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian together presided over the ground-breaking ceremony on National Road 10 connecting Battambang to Koh Kong on 9 March 2020, a project which will cost US$188 million.

Minister of Public Works and Transport, H.E Sun Chanthol, said that National Road 10 links the Samlaut area of Battambang as a corridor to Pursat and then to Koh Kong, with a total length of over 198 km and financed by the government of the People’s Republic of China.

He added that the road will be constructed in accordance with the standard of road level 3, a technical standard of the People’s Republic of China, with a total width of 9 metres and two layers of DBST. Construction will take 48 months from December 2019 to December 2023.

Also, National Road 55, linking National Road 5 to Thailand’s Trat province, was officially inaugurated on 9 March 2020. Both roads will facilitate connectivity, communication and integration between Cambodia and neighbouring countries. (Read more)
