PM Hun Sen Commits to Building Two More Expressways PP – Bavet & PP – Siem Reap

Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdecho Hun Sen said that the Royal Government will build two more expressways, Phnom Penh – Bavet and Phnom Penh – Siem Reap. 

“We will try to build another expressway connecting Phnom Penh to Bavet on the Vietnamese border,” read a post on his official Facebook page while he was travelling on the first expressway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville on 9 December. 

Responding to a comment on Facebook, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the Cambodian government is also studying the expressway project from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. (Read more)

The Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway is scheduled to be built in 2023 at a cost of US$1.6 billion, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. 

The Cambodian government signed a framework agreement with the China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) in November to build the 138-kilometre Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway. (Read more)
